Overview

On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit a RESTAURANT MANAGER.

Longueville House is a stunning 300 year old listed Georgian Country House hidden in the heart of a 450 acre wooded estate, in the Blackwater Valley.

Just 4 miles from Mallow Town, Co Cork and only 30 minutes drive north of Cork City, Longueville House Hotel is conveniently located for Irish and international visitors to the South West corner of Ireland.

They are a small family business with a 20 bedroom country house hotel property and a fine dining restaurant. Husband William & wife Aisling own and run Longueville together. William, Chef/Patron, runs the kitchen, grounds, makes cider & distils brandy. Aisling manages front of house/reception.

Requirements:
  • Someone who can commit for a minimum of two years.
  • The most important aspect to this role is the manager’s ability to train staff & retrain staff & monitor staff.
  • It is a hands on role so managers roll up their sleeves and get stuck in & lead their team harmoniously by example.
  • EU Citizenship
  • Fluent English
We offer:
  • Gross starting salary of €28,000 per annum.
  • Tips and 10% service charge (added to group guest bills) is paid in addition to salary.
  • Average hours per week (vary depending on time of year) from 45 to 55, averaging out at 45/48.

  • Hours of Business: Breakfast service starts at 8am and finishes approx. midday/ 1am or whenever… depending on type of business that is in-house. Breakfast staff normally start at 7.15am. Chefs generally start at 12 noon and finish around 10.30/11pm, depending on volume of business.

  • Hotel/Restaurant Opening periods: 5 days per week, Wednesdays through Sundays, April to October inclusive and open 3 to 4  days per week, Thurs/Friday to Sundays,  November to March inclusive.

  • Hotel/Restaurant Holiday & Closing periods: Four days over Christmas 2019, 1 week in November, 2 weeks in early January 2020.

  • Meals provided while on duty.

Applicants for all positions must have their own transport. Staff Accommodation is not provided and ideally applicants need to be within a maximum of 30 minutes’ drive from their home to work. Mallow town is 6km away with adequate choice of rental accommodation.

*Initially new staff can be accommodated for two weeks at hotel while arranging accommodation.
